This is where all conversations end up! My husband says he's just trying to keep warm... I say he's wanting to talk "wood burner".
He installed this unit this fall with the help of our boys and I will say one more winter and it will have paid for itself!
I do thank God for a warm home, family, and good friends!

Sled ridding with friends and family!

Roger did all of his riding on the four wheeler!

Here's Matt's chance!

No, she did not injure herself on the slopes!

Nathan is pretty good with that snow board!

Yes, she is having fun!

I love sled ridding, it's the going back up

the hills that I dread!

My Health Has Been Restored! Thank You Lord!

We were reading today about the Colonies in 1776. What life was like and how they lived. Two things stuck out to my children. Not that some people ate squirrel (remember my boys are true Coshoctonites) but that the colony of Pennsylvania actually paid people to shoot squirrel. Nathan thought he'd like to live back then.
The other thing was not so funny. Did you know (according to If you Were There in 1776 by Barbara Brenner) the New Englanders seemed to think that Virginians are frivolous. Virginians often found Pennsylvanians rough. And a great many people found New Yorkers vulgar. We spent a few minutes on that one!

Often, my husband calls me the little New York girl. So when my boys read this, they used it as a golden opportunity to tease me.
By the way this is Nathan with his first squirrel. I had gotten sick just a couple of days following this great kill. The boys felt like it was such a waist, but I was pulled between being thankful for not having to try squirrel and being thankful for my illness.
In EVERYTHING give thanks! - Rachael

Keep Praying!

Please keep praying for me, I still have the "flu". Tonight at 10 o'clock will be seven full days. I am so thankful my children are well and my husband! Thank you Lord! Please also pray for a dear friend of mine, Latrica. She has been battling serious physical issues.
Also, there is an urgent unspoken request that came to me during the night. God knows all the details.
Pray for our and your Worship Service tomorrow! That people would do just that! Setting all their cares aside and come to Worship Our Lord and Savior. He is so Worthy!
The enemy is awful good at shifting our focus on even what church is all about.
Pray for my husband that he would preach with God's anointing.
Thank you and God Bless! - Rachael

Please pray for me! Back to the couch I go with a headache, fever, achy body, and well, I won't include the rest. I guess what ever I've had isn't through with me yet. I am reminded that what ever comes my way has to pass through my master first. In a class I took at GBS (God's Bible School and College) our professor brought to mind three questions that should be asked when going through trials.
What can I be thankful for in this situation?
What is God wanting to teach me?
How can this make me more Christ-like in my
thoughts, attitudes, and actions?
I think if we are honest we can agree the WHY ME questions typically lead to a depressed state.
Lord, help me to be thankful, teachable, and more like you!

Thank God for Good Health!

Thank God for good health! I have been sick since I went to bed Saturday night. My husband should have been a nurse. His love for me and his children are obvious. Thank you Roger for taking such good care of me!

Yes! You are seeing TWO waffle makers! The children and I had purchased one as a Christmas gift for Roger. A week later Roger and the children went Christmas shopping for me. On the way to the store he tried to convince the children how much I would like to have a waffle maker for Christmas. That didn't go over well with the kids and they talked him out of it...............so they thought. Evidently after work Christmas Eve, Roger made a mad dash to Sams Club to pick me (him) up one more gift. Thus, we ended up with TWO waffle makers.

When it was all said and done, Roger decided to give the one waffle maker to my sister Dawn. And by the way, He's the one who's crazy about waffles!

A night out with an old friend

I really enjoyed my evening. I met an old high school friend for dinner and we reminisced of the "old days". She seemed to be able to give me the update on several of those we went to school with.
When I think of the old days, however , there is a lot to be ashamed of. I've never been one to live in the past and even if I had, my past has been erased!
July 14, 1994 I knelt down beside my bed and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. Yes, very simple, but anyone who knew me well would tell you, I have haven't been the same since.
I am so thankful the Lord came to me when He did. I told my friend, "Tell everyone I'm happily married and am a Christian!"
Here is my CHRISTIAN FAMILY!
Matt, Rachael, Roger, Nate, and Sarah (little Rachael)

Please pray for Kirsten

Pray for my niece Kirsten. She is five months pregnant and having contractions. They do have her on bed rest and the baby looks good. Naturally she is a bit shook up about this. She's balancing, motherhood, part time work, and school. Pray that God would calm her and that she would fully rely on his strength.
Her and Neaven are to married in August. Congratulations! I love you, Kir!

Dad's First Birthday with Jesus

Today would have been my father's 52nd birthday here on earth.

Please continue to pray for my mom. In the past two months she has gone thru loosing her husband on Thanksgiving Day, celebrating Christmas without him, their Anniversary the 27th of December without him, New Year's Eve, and now his birthday without him. She is having an extremely difficult time facing so many "first times" without dad so soon.

Christmas Eve, my daughter strategically placed seven or so alarm clocks on the mantle over our bed. From 4:30a.m. till 6:00a.m. I tried to pretend I wasn't hearing the buzzing, beeping, clanging, and ringing! Finally Sarah heard the alarm clock orchestra playing in our bedroom and made her rounds to awaken everyone. Roger not quite ready to get up insisted we read the Christmas Story in bed this year. We then opened our gifts one at a time. (as is tradition) We had a wonderful day together. My sister, her friend, daughter, and the Leonards joined us for Christmas Dinner.
