My country boys (and girl) can survive!

God has a sense of humor!
Who would ever have thought that a girl from
Long Island, New York would ever have a chapter in her life like this?
My son shot a doe and wanted to learn how to process the meat himself.
So I (ignorantly) said, "Yes!"
What I didn't realize is that would mean a deer carcass would be hanging on our front
porch...for days!
My boys skinning the doe

What has happened to my daughter!
She's touching it! Yuck!

Meanwhile my husband is on the other side of the house getting

the fire going in our wood burner.

If that's not bad enough,

while all this is taking place,
I'm in the house finishing up
a piping hot batch of DEER CHILI!

Today would have been my mother and father's anniversary.

Please pray for my mother Elaine Butzer as she continues to grieve.

This day also marks one month since my dad has been gone. Words cannot express how much I miss you dad.
I see so much differently because of you and can't wait to finally make it home. I love you dad!

Christmas Program 2008

Thanks Megan, Monica, and Janet for helping with the children's Choir! May God richly bless you!

Carolyn directed the sign language presentation. She worked with children who were hardly at practice and was sweating bullets to make it happen. After the program many parents and adults alike voiced their opinion on that part of the program and wished it were longer. THANK YOU CAROLYN AND BEN FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME AND GIVING TO THE LORD! (Your Pastor's Wife)

This year's Christmas Drama may have appeared to have had an unhappy ending but look closer.

We had a family with three daughters and one very athletic son, his father's pride and joy. The son comes down with a terminal illness.

Just weeks before his diagnosis "Matthew" repents of his sins and gives his all to Jesus. This in turn brings the family to Christ and yes Matthew dies. Even though they had Christmas without their son/brother, they celebrated knowing Jesus Christ. And knowing they would see him again. What a promise!

Many of you know I lost my dad this past Thanksgiving Day to cancer. This drama was difficult at times for me given the diagnosis of the boy, "brain cancer" however, when we sat down to write this Christmas Drama we knew God gave it to us. Praise the Lord for His guidance!

Megan had prepared 160 bags to give to all those at the Program. She ran out of them. There were several families who never got a bag. We can guess 170-180 people attended. Praise the Lord! A special thank you to all those who worked so hard to make this happen.

May God Richly Bless You With His Presence.

Until We Meet Again

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Psalm 23:4

My Father's Home Going

Jesse David Butzer, 51 of Inverness Florida, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 27, 2008. He will be greatly missed. "I am so proud of you dad. You finished well! Thank you for leaving footsteps for me follow. I love you and I'll see you soon."
